Immeractive visits Imagina 2012 (Monaco)
It was a good opportunity to see actual 3D visual solutions available on the market for digital mockups et 3D cartography for architecture, urban planning and industry.
This year Imagina has invited urban planners, architects and GIS users to present their feedback on these new technologies.
Things are moving well in France, with a dynamic NGI giving geographic informations of quality and territorial communities which begin to understand the benefits of letting tiers use their geographic datas. They are now aware of the great communication potential of 3D interactive visual solutions built on their geographic datas. In particular we can appreciate the initiative of the city of Rennes, a pioneer using visual interactive 3D for years for communication purposes with the citizens, as well as the politic held in Lyon around the new settlement project Lyon-Confluence which groups in a 3D digital mockup all the projects submitted by real estate developers.
The potenrial of BIM (Building Information Model) in the future was also outlined by big french and american building companies, firstable to improve the cooperation between architects and building companies, an secondly for the further maintenance and future evolution of the built structures.
