Immeractive visits Serious Game Expo 2011 in Lyon (France)

As a member of the Belgian Serious Game cluster and member of the TWIST cluster, it was for us a good opportunity to see what is done by our french neighbors in particular in the Rhöne-Alpes region.

The belgian exhibitors were represented by the AWEX (export agency for the Walloon region), TWIST cluster, Belle Productions, Cross Roads and Claroline.

At the conferences there were some nice speachs about the integration of new technologies in Serious Games such as augmented reality, social networking and transmedia.  There were many cases of on-site virtual training (worker in industrial environment, sales in a company, manager, ...) as well as simulation setups for vehicules in 3D, public awareness games in chemistry, ...

There were about fourty exhibitors, mostly french companies but also some exhibitors from Netherlands, United Kingdom, Canada, ...  Some of them presented author tools for Serious Games connected to e-learning platform, 3D product configuration solutions, augmented reality technologies that didn't require any markers, interactive touch-screen for conferences, ...
